0. What this guide is (and is not)
Anime Expeditions is a Roblox tower-defense style game where you place anime-inspired units, clear maps, and invest resources into summons, traits, evolution, and equipment. This guide is community-sourced progression advice for new accounts. Exact drop rates, stage counts, and banner odds are labeled Not verified unless we mark them as community-reported with sources.
The game is updating quickly. Prefer in-client menus over any external list when numbers conflict.
1. Redeem codes before you spend anything
Free gems and trait crystals (sometimes labeled trait rerolls in conflicting guides) are the fastest early boost. Open the Codes page on this site for the latest community-reported list with status and conflicting reward labels.
- Launch Anime Expeditions on Roblox
- Open the in-game code redeem UI
- Paste codes carefully — case and typos matter
- Skip unverified entries if you only want higher-confidence lists
- If a code fails, read Codes Not Working fixes before assuming the list is wrong
2. Complete the Beginner Path first
Community beginner guides treat the Beginner Path as the real tutorial. It walks you through summoning, upgrades, equipment, and Story while paying gold, gems, stat rerolls, grey sprites, and starter gear.
Do not ignore these side quests to jump into raids or random events. The Path rewards are designed to fund your first real roster.
4. Story mode before everything else
Raids, challenges, guilds, expeditions, and events all look tempting. Early accounts should still prioritize Story. Chapters unlock maps, pay gems, drop equipment, and unlock the systems you need for mastery farming, evolution, and raids.
Clearing maps also feeds the equipment and sprite economy used later for unit exclusives.
5. Build damage first, then support
Early Story is easier with a real damage dealer than with flashy support-only lineups. Community beginner DPS targets include Flame Emperor, Lady Giant, Elf Mage, String Demon, Reaper, and Ice Queen when available. Secrets such as Shadow and 8th Sword become late-game priorities once you can invest properly.
Support units like Salmon Sorcerer, Puppet, or True Saint shine more when you already have damage — and in challenges/raids. Temporary early supports that guides often de-prioritize for long-term investment include Scissor, Greed, and weak economy fillers once Ramen Guy exists.
6. Save Trait Crystals for keepers
Rerolling traits on units you will replace in a few hours wastes scarce crystals. Evolve and commit to a core roster first. Community top keeps: Unbound (S+), then Primordial / Forsaken / Draconic (S). Investor is excellent on farm units only.
Trait station is in the lobby Upgrade area between Evolve and Crafting. Each reroll consumes one Trait Crystal; auto-reroll with filters is available in-client.
7. Stockpile evolution materials early
Evolution is one of the largest power spikes for eligible units. Recipes use colored sprites, gold, and unit key items. Grey Sprites are especially important because community craft notes say they convert into colored sprites.
Start collecting from Story, challenges, weekly challenges, mastery, expeditions, and raids. Use the Evolutions pages and Evolution Checklist tool on this site — recipes are community-reported and should be confirmed in the Evolve menu preview.
8. Daily freebie checklist
Build a habit of claiming passive income every session so you are not only relying on banner luck.
- Daily calendar / daily rewards
- Daily and weekly challenges
- Achievements and level milestones
- Quest rewards and unit index rewards
- Event tabs and in-game mail after updates
- Guild participation when unlocked (community advice)
9. First 2-hour priority loop
- Redeem all reported-working codes
- Finish as much Beginner Path as possible
- Spend Beginner Tickets on Beginner Banner
- Push Story until you stall, then farm the highest comfortable map
- Place Ramen Guy or Stone Alchemist if you have economy options
- Do not mass-reroll traits on temporary units
- Open Evolve preview on any Mythic you plan to keep and start sprite farming
